Transitions between the classroom environment and less-structured school locations, such as the playground, hallways, or cafeteria, may be challenging. Students with ADHD who run or climb excessively, feel inner restlessness, or need to be "on the go" may benefit from extra adult assistance and supervision when they are preparing for these transitions.

Further, providing students with ADHD with additional structure and adult supervision during lunch and recess may prove helpful.
